'We have decided to call her Luka Violet Toni Candy'

The former neighbours star and her property developer husband Nick Candy welcomed the arrival of their daughter Luka Violet Toni ‘a few days ago.’

Confirming the news for the first time today, Nick, 40 revealed that they had given Luka the middle name ‘Toni’ as a tribute to his late father, Tony Candy, who died a few weeks ago.

'Holly is a perfect mother'

He said: ‘She was born a few days ago. We have decided to call her Luka Violet Toni Candy. Her nickname will be LuLu...

Nick also said that 30 year-old Holly wants to be a hands-on mum, saying: ‘Holly is at home. We aren't having any help at the moment. Holly doesn't want any, she wants to do it all ourselves at this stage, but that might change - it has only been a few days.’

He added: ‘She is a perfect mother. It was a natural birth. She is from a big Australian family, with younger siblings, so she knows exactly what she is doing.’

Nick said of his father: ‘It is such a shame that dad died six weeks before Luka was born.

‘But I had the best role model possible in him, so, hopefully, if I can be anything like the father he was to me, when it comes to raising Luka, we'll be on to a winner.’

The couple wed in California last year and Holly was forced to announce her pregnancy in the summer after she lost an injunction to stop an Australian magazine publishing pictures revealing her baby bump.

Holly, who is ten years younger than husband Nick, has previously said that all she wants ‘is to be a mum.’

‘The biggest luxury on the planet to me would be to be at home with my child.

‘Finally at 30 I am coming round to the idea of babies and Nick, at 40, is well and truly ready,’ she said.
