New mum Helen Flanagan has opened up about her painful three day labour before welcoming baby daughter Matilda.

The former Coronation Street star gave birth to Matilda six weeks ago, her first child with footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair.

Helen, 24, revealed to OK! that she ‘screamed out’ in pain during the horrendously long labour.

She explained: “Matilda was in the back-to-back position, which made it even more painful. At one point my back was hurting so much that I screamed out for the doctor to give me an epidural.”

As many new mums to can relate, as soon as Helen locked eyes on her baby daughter she realised that the pain was 100% worth it.

She said: “I couldn't keep my eyes off her. It made the pain I was in all worth it – she's a dream come true.”

Helen continued: “I was staring up at Scott and Matilda thinking, she's my world. I'm completely obsessed by her, though, I can't stop hugging and kissing her.”

New dad Scott added: “I love that we're a proper family now.

“I have a new-found respect for Helen after watching her go through a three-day labour.”

Helen announced the arrival of her baby girl on Twitter earlier this summer, writing: “On Monday the 29th of June 2015 at 8:04 am, weighing 7lbs 6oz at Good Hope Hospital.”
