Helen Flanagan may not be the first person that springs to mind when you think of the word "maternal", but the former Coronation Street actress has taken to Twitter to hint that she's ready for a baby of her own.

The 22 year-old took to Twitter on New Year's Day to declare that she was feeling "broody" after spending the day with a friend's newborn baby.

And, in typical Helen-style, she decided to prove it with an Instagram shot of herself and the tiny tot.

It's not the first time that Helen has revealed her desire to have children, however; just last year she admitted that becoming a mum would be "an absolute dream" come true.

"I don't think I'm ready for marriage, but I've always wanted to have children. I always feel broody, I've been broody since I was about 18! I absolutely love children, I really really do.

"I probably would do it before marriage as I feel more ready to have a baby than get married. I think it would be an absolute dream to be a mum. I would love it."

Helen recently reunited with her footballer beau, Scott Sinclair, after calling time on their three and a half year relationship in June. We wonder if the pair will be welcoming the pitter-patter of tiny feet sometime soon then?
