A friend of the family have said Bill Montag's ‘life is in ruins’ after being charged with sexual assault on a child and incest.
No family members have visited the 67-year-old since his arrest on Thursday, and his wife (who is not Heidi’s mother), is thought to have fled town after Bill’s arrest.
Terri Montag apparently text a neighbour on Thursday asking her to ‘look after and feed my dogs,’ without giving any indication of how long she will be gone for.
Neighbour Melody Miller said: ‘They are a lovely couple and amazing neighbours so nobody would have seen this coming. We’re friends so I’m just concentrating on looking after the dogs.’
Bill was arrested on three counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and one charge of aggravated incest. The abuse allegedly took place between 1993 and 1998 when the victim was a teenager.
Heidi’s father denies all charges, with Hill’s stars Holly and Heidi not considered victims in the case.
If he is convicted, he faces up to 12 years in prison.
