Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona has revealed that her grandmother has sadly passed away.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote simply: "My heart is breaking"

She had revealed that her grandmother was poorly the night before, telling fans: "Been to see my very very poorly nan!! She had fall she's 84 bless her! Love my nan to bits loved living with when was little she's the best."

Early this morning, she announced the sad news that her beloved nanny had passed away.

"Heartbroken R.I.P love you all your world nan xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"Had so much fun with you yesterday nan!! Love you forever your girl kerry xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx nanny Betty xxxxxxxxx"

Kerry, who gave birth to baby daughter Dylan-Jorge Rose earlier this year, has had a difficult few months.

Just a few weeks ago, fiancé George Kay began behaving erratically after taking steroids and was sectioned by police officers.

But Kerry has since admitted that, despite the ordeal her new partner has put her through, she is still madly in love with the former rugby league player.

She said in an interview: “I say I want to beat the s**t of him, but my love is greater now than ever.

Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
