However, it seems not everyone is so keen on having the outspoken This Morning guest off our TV screens.

'Hopkins would be a ‘massive coup for Channel 5’

According to reports, Celebrity Big Brother, which has been confirmed to start on January 3rd 2014, will star outspoken mother Katie.

A source previously revealed that securing Hopkins would be a ‘massive coup for Channel 5’.

The insider added: ’Katie’s a colourful character, opinionated and still one of the most recognisable faces in the land. She’d be a massive hit.’

The 38-year-old – who has become infamous for her outspoken views on childrens’ names, ginger babies and parenting, landed in trouble earlier this week after tweeting about Scottish life expectancy in the wake of the Glasgow helicopter crash.

‘We have no plans for Katie Hopkins to appear on This Morning’

Following the petition, This Morning have revealed they have "no plans" to book Katie Hopkins in the near future.

An ITV representative confirmed: ‘We have no plans for Katie Hopkins to appear on This Morning at this present time.’

Katie retweeted the petition against her this morning

Since the weekend’s backlash, Katie has taken to Twitter to explain her Glasgow tweet, which read ‘‘Life expectancy in Scotland based 07/08 birth is 59.5. Goodness me. That lot will do anything to avoid working until retirement.’, was related to a health article, apologising for the ‘poor timing’.

‘Cyber bullying. Some people doing it to themselves'

However this morning the mother-of-three appeared tired of being apologetic, retweeting the petition against her appearing on TV.

Prior to this, she had tweeted: ‘Cyber bullying. Some people doing it to themselves, like self harm. Imagine if I started self trolling as well. Like the chicken and the egg’.
