The 40-year-old actress is an avid health guru, and her frequent exercise and diet regime have given her a glow that is the envy of many.
So how do you get a complexion like Gwynie’s?
Beauty regime
Gwyn ensures she regularly exfoliates, moisturises and has chemical peels.
‘I usually deep cleanse and exfoliate my skin four times a week.
'I get a gentle peel from my facialist that takes away all the dead cells on the surface, and then I focus on moisturisation.'
The actress favours natural organic beauty products and uses skincare by a company called Sprout Wellness, using home-made ingredients.
She is also a fan of olive based cleansing products containing vitamins A and E, and uses their facial wash, as well as their facial wipes throughout the day.
Why not try body shop’s olive beautifying oil, £9.
Speaking about her love for French skincare products and steering away from botox, she has said:
‘I love how French actresses age but don't really do anything about it — it's beautiful. I don't like Botox. I think on some faces it works, but it's when you can really see it that it starts to look fake.’
Instead, she credits her youthful complexion to regular radio frequency–based facials.
Red carpet secret
The mother-of-two reveals that celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson introduced her to 'Prtty Peaushun', a tightening body lotion developed by a make-up artist, which makes the skin glow and brings out muscle tone.
Exercise
The Iron Man star keeps her skin looking healthy by sticking to a strict workout regime. As well as running for half an hour every morning, she works out regularly with Tracy Anderson.
‘I think diet and exercise play a huge part in aging well,’ she admits.
Cardio boosts your blood flow, carrying oxygen through your body and draining any excess fluids in your skin, giving your complexion a more toned and radiant appearance.
Diet
The American actress is known for her healthy diet, and has even wrote a book about her organic, low carb, macrobiotic diet. Many credit her wrinkle and cellulite free complexion to her food dedication.
As well as regular detoxes, Gwyn avoids dairy, sugar and gluten.
Make up
Gwyneth admits that she is useless at doing her own make-up, and clearly doesn’t need much of the stuff! But when she does, she looks to her make-up artist for help.
Emma Lovell perfects Gwyn’s natural look by blending Gemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation with moisturiser.
She brings out Gwyn’s eyes with concealer and an eyelash curler, statement black mascara and eyeliner, and a nude eye shadow. She then uses a highlighter on Gwyn’s T-zone to give her an extra glow, adding a red lippie at night.
Do it yourself
For toned and glowing skin, you can make your own body scrub at home (as shown on Gwyn’s website goop.com) like this:
-
1 cup organic demerara sugar (or any other coarse sugar will work)
-
1-2 tsp organic unrefined coconut oil
-
2 tsp organic shredded coconut
Mix shredded coconut and sugar in a small bowl, stir until blended. Heat coconut oil in a small pot just until melted. Pour coconut oil over sugar and shredded coconut, you'll notice it liquefies some of the sugar. With a fork or spoon, stir oil into the sugar mixture. It will start to spread. Continue until the sugar is all one consistency.
