The Sun has revealed that the Coldpay singer left the legal documents unanswered for several months but they have now been officially signed.

The pair will apparently receive joint legal and physical custody of their two children, Apple and Moses. This means that both parents will decide the important decisions for the children like where they go to school and when they go to the doctor, but also they will both decide where the children will live on a regular basis.

They are also likely to split their assets evenly, according The Sun’s Head of Showbiz, Dan Wotton.

“Chris has now signed the divorce papers. There was no underlying reason why he had left them for so long and he was planning to do it eventually,” the source told Dan.

“There is no bad blood between him and Gwyneth and they remain very close. As ever, their number one priority is their kids.”

In March 2014, the couple announced their separation in an official statement coining the now-famous term “conscious uncoupling”.

Chris has since dated Jennifer Lawrence and is currently dating Annabelle Wallis since separating from Gwyneth, and the Iron Man actress has been in a relationship with Brad Falchuck (co-creator of Glee) since August 2014.

In an interview at the weekend Chris spoke about his divorce, saying: “It’s a weird one. I see it more like you meet someone, you have some time together and things just move through.”
