The 46-year-old and Gavin, 50, called time on their marriage earlier this year, and No Doubt singer Gwen has revealed the impact it had on her.
Speaking to Carson Daly on 97.1 AMP Radio, she said: “My life is so extreme right now. My life basically blew up in my face. And now I’m in this new life, and it’s pretty awesome I have to say – I’m so inspired and being back on the show, and just being in a new place.
“Everything just feels new. I just feel inspired. I don’t know how else to describe it.”
Gwen, who shares three children with Gavin, recently premiered new single Used To Love You – which she admitted is about their break-up.
Discussing the influence it’s had on her music, she said: “My value on myself is by songwriting… I think within eight weeks I had 19 songs… I was like, ‘Listen all I wanna do is I just want to say the truth. I just want the truth to come out. I just want to be honest and real and that represents where I am right now.’”
Gavin and Gwen, who are parents to sons Kingston, nine, Zuma, six, and 18-month-old Apollo, allegedly broke up because she believed he was cheating.
Despite this, sources insisted the couple are trying not to let it affect the children.
An insider told Us Weekly: “They are trying not to fight around the kids and keep the kids’ worlds as undisturbed as possible. She is trying to make it as easy on them as she can.”
