This year's Strictly Come Dancing has been riddled with drama, and yet another controversy was thrown in the mix when viewers took to Twitter to slam presenter Tess Daly for being "fake".
One Twitter user wrote: "Don't know what's worse @TessDaly's dress or her fake sincerity!" while another wrote "It is SO painful & cringeworthy watching @TessDaly. Ruining Strictly for me!".
However, Olympic gold medalist Greg Rutherford, who has been praised for his impressive dance moves, says Tess has a heart of gold.
"It's a shock!" says Greg. "I think Tess is absolutely lovely. She and Claudia are kind of motherly figures – we see them before the shows start and they wish us luck and comfort us.
"Tess always does me a favour and constantly reminds the viewers that I haven't had any dancing experience before, so I don't look so bad! I don't see her as fake or disingenuous at all."
Greg, 29, who is partnered with professional dancer Natalie Lowe, admits taking part in Strictly makes him more anxious than competing in the Olympics - despite such amazing support from his celeb co-stars.
He says: "I feel more nervous before Strictly performances than my sporting events! At parties, you sometimes see a wally in the corner who is dancing awfully and I get paranoid that that's going to be me on the Strictly dance floor. My worst fear is forgetting my steps and just standing there awkwardly.
"I love the gang this year! I love Danny Mac, Ore Oduba and especially Judge Rinder. He's amazing; we go out and grab some food together in the weeknights. I think they'll all be friends for life."
Over the past 12 years of the show, several celeb contestants have fallen in love with their dance partners on the show signalling the end of their relationships at the time.
But Greg, who has a two-year old son with his partner of four years Susie Verill, says he won't become a victim of the infamous "Strictly curse".
"I'm not at all worried about the curse!" he laughs. "It was my girlfriend who actually convinced me to do the show! Both Nat and I are in very secure relationships and we've even been on double dates with each other's partners.
"I understand that on Strictly people have grow close to their partners and sometimes get into relationships, but I know it won't affect us. It's just all about the dancing."
And despite his extensive fanbase – many of whom have shown appreciation for his athletic physique on Twitter – Greg says his number one fan is his son Milo.
Greg adds: "My son is loving it! He now thinks my job is now dancing which is quite funny. We definitely want more children too – I want five, but I'm not sure Susie will be up for that!"
