Gordon Ramsay has revealed to fans that he’s been rushed to hospital after an accident, and the injury has resulted in the world-renowned chef needing emergency surgery.
Instagramming a snap from his hospital bed, the dad-to-be thanked fans for their support after he went under the knife for a ruptured achilles.
With just a sheet draped over him, Gordon said:
“Surgery went well, thank you all for your support and kind messages.
“Obviously upset I can't play this weekend #socceraid and Ironman for @greatormondst and@GTRFoundation next weekend in Saffs I'm not good at lying down.
“Now I've got no choice , need to sit still !!!! Thank you love to all G.”
The Hell’s Kitchen star, who recently announced that himself and wife Tana are expecting their fifth child together, was set to play for the Rest of the World XI this Sunday as part of the charity event Soccer Aid.
On Facebook, he explained in greater details about his injury, expressing his dispappoinment at missing the match.
His regretful post read:
“Hi guys, I’ve been really looking forward to participating in both this weekend’s Soccer Aid and this year’s #GTR100.
“Sadly, following the devastating news that I have ruptured my Achilles, today, on the advice of my doctors I have undergone emergency surgery to fix the tear and can no longer participate in the forthcoming events.
But the sporty dad-of-four assured he would be cheering on his team no matter what.
The star also took to Twitter to thank many of his followers for sending their well wishes, and revealed that he was having trouble nodding off staying overnight in the hospital.
