And as his Glee castmates prepare to release the tribute episode to his character, Finn, it has been revealed that one key actress will be excluded from the piece.

Dianna Agron, who played the the late star's on-screen girlfriend, Quinn has apparently been deliberately excluded from the script, due to the widespread dislike of her and her behaviour during the last series.

The Glee tribute, which will air in the UK on October 18, is bound to attract millions of viewers, as fans say goodbye to a character who has been with the show since it's begginings.

27-year-old Agron, who played Finn's girlfriend in the earlier seasons of Glee, was dropped from the show for the fifth season, but due to her character's closeness to Cory's, it was expected she would make a return.

A source from inside Fox told RadarOnline that Lea Michele, Cory's real life girlfriend and Glee co-star 'never saw her as a team player' and they 'did not want her sharing the glory for this very special episode.'

Tragically, 31-year-old Monteith was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room in July, having succumbed to a fatal concoction of alcohol and heroin. He had previously attended rehab for his substance addiction, with some suggesting that his sobriety in the months before his death had lowered his tolerance for the drug.

Lea Michele paid a touching tribute to the star at the Teen Choice Awards in the summer, saying of her partner: 'he was very special to me and also to the world. And we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful smile.'
