Gladiators fans, remember Wolf? Here’s what he looks like now

He says he'd 100% beat today's Gladiators. What do you reckon?

It was one of the most iconic TV shows of the '90s and the perfect start to a Saturday night in and now the British game show is back.

As the likes of Fury, Viper and Athena take to the stage in the 2024 reboot of Gladiators, it had us reminiscing about the OG fighters who ruled our weekends all those years ago (*sighs act the fact that some of you weren't even born*).

From the female legends like Jet and Lightening to male heroes like Hunter and Nightshade, the OG Gladiators were basically real-life superheroes, but every hero needs a villain: enter Wolf.

The longest running star of the series, Wolf, who's really name is Michael Van Wijk, featured on the show from 1992 all the way through to 2000 and was easily the most feared Gladiator around.

Of course, with the show being revamped, the bad-boy was asked about his thoughts on the new clan of fighters and in classic Wolf style he backed himself.

Wolf – who is now 71 years old btw and is still in tip-top shape – was asked by The Independent, if he thought he could beat them and the bodybuilder didn't hesitate with his response.

"Absolutely, 100 per cent. I wouldn’t even worry about it.”

What an icon.

Wolf also hinted that he wanted some involvement in the series that has moved form ITV to the BBC but nothing quite came of it.

"I think they decided from the get-go that they would have nothing to do with the old show or nothing to do with any of the people," he admitted.

Wolf added, "It was just [going to be a] completely new format, completely their way of doing it."

They missed a bloody trick there, didn't they?

Nowadays, Wolf is still giving hardcore gym bro vibes and living his best life in New Zealand with his family. His Instagram is brimming with nostalgic Gladiators pics, cute family photos, healthy meals and work-out vids.

Turns out he listens to Taylor Swift at the gym which obviously we bloody love.

He may no longer have those long dark locks or the uber tan, but Wolf is still in unbelievable shape and there is no denying that he still has the look of determination in those dark eyes.

Once a wolf, always a wolf.
