As Kim Kardashian reveals how she cheats razor-sharp cheekbones, celeb make-up artist, Nancy Sumner, shows you how to transform your face with this genius technique...

Step 1

** To nail this contoured look, it’s crucial to get your base right. Apply a primer with your fingertips – it will act like glue to grip foundation and blusher for a stay-put look. If you have acne-prone skin, go for an anti-redness primer – the green colouring will neutralise redness. L’Oréal Lumi Magique Primer is an excellent primer for all skin types.

Step 2

Lighten up

The key to this technique is using two foundations. With a brush, sweep a liquid or cream foundation one shade lighter than your skin tone across the centre of your forehead and down your nose. Apply it to your under eyes, the tops of your cheekbones, around the nostrils and finish with a dab on the centre of your chin.

Step 3

Go dark

The second foundation needs to be one shade darker than your skin tone. Sweep it under your cheekbones – start a bit higher if yours are low. Apply it along the sides of the nose (either side of the light shade) and pop a little on your temples and jawline. With your fingers, smudge any harsh lines, making sure you don’t mix the shades.

Step 4

Highlight to add glow

Next, use a shimmery highlighter to really make you glow. Apply it just under eyebrows, along the tops of cheekbones and down the ridge of your nose. Then, with your fingers, dot a little over your cupid’s bow to cheat pouty lips – use a cream highlighter for smaller areas. Finish with a dusting of translucent powder.

Step 5

Colour in

To complete Kim’s look, blend a rose colour over cheek apples. For soft, smoky eyes, use a light brown eyeshadow all over lids and sweep a darker shade into socket creases, then blend. Rim inner lids with liner and trace along top lash lines too. Finish with a few coats of mascara and a slick of nude lipgloss.
