Geri Horner, nee Halliwell, gave birth to a little boy last weekend, and we were all over the moon to welcome the newest Spice Baby to the world.

Geri and her husband, Christian, shared the news of the birth of their son with some very sweet Instagram snaps.

The baby boy’s name, Montague George Hector Horner, was a tribute to Geri’s friend, the late George Michael, and also gives a nod to Shakespeare.

And now, a week after his arrival, Geri has opened up about how grateful she is to have conceived in her forties.

Talking to The Sunday Times, she said: "I feel incredibly lucky to have conceived naturally at my age, 44.

"I see it as a miracle."

We’re so happy for Geri that she was lucky enough to conceive naturally, as many women find it more difficult as they get older – and it doesn’t help matters when we are constantly told that our biological clocks are ticking.

The birth of Montague comes around the same time that Janet Jackson, 50, gave birth to her first child and sparked a conversation around women becoming mothers later in life.

Geri is already mum to 10-year-old Bluebell from a previous relationship, but revealed that she is not taking the blessing of her baby boy for granted.

"Trust me, I can still moan like the rest them but, equally, I remind myself every day that this is an absolute gift."
