Geri Horner (nee Halliwell) announced her pregnancy earlier this month, as the world went into meltdown with congratulations and well wishes for the ex-Spice Girl and her husband, Christian.
Geri, 44, had spoken about extending her family last year, admitting: “We might think about adoption but to be honest, we know we are so lucky and happy with things as they are, you have to realise when not to push your luck,”
However, the wonderful news spread quickly – and just a few hours later, Geri proudly showed off her cute baby bump alongside friend and co-Spice Girl, Emma Bunton.
The pair were spotted on the red carpet earlier in October at the Attitude Awards, where Geri received even more good news – she was awarded with the event’s Honorary Gay Award.
The singer got everyone on social media talking by posting a cryptic picture on Twitter of a note that quotes one of her famous covers, It’s Raining Men.
“God bless nature #mamaspice,” read the note.
Soon afterwards, she released a statement confirming the happy news, saying: “They are absolutely delighted to announce that they are expecting their first child together.
“The couple is overjoyed with the good news and cannot wait to welcome the newest addition to their family,”
Geri also showed a new picture of her growing bump this weekend on Instagram, looking healthy and happy in a fitted t-shirt.
The GEM singer, 44, already has 10-year-old daughter, Bluebell who is reportedly thrilled at the prospect of a new sibling.
Congratulations! We wish Geri and Christian all the best with their bundle of joy.
