Fans went into meltdown last moth after Giovanni Pernice posted that ‘engagement shoot’ photograph with Georgia May Foote posing with her beautiful ring.

However, the former Coronation Street star insisted that she’s not going to be walking down the aisle anytime soon with her Italian boyfriend.

During her appearance on Celebrity Juice on Thursday 5 May, Georgia excitedly chatted to Keith Lemon about her and Giovanni’s relationship, before the host asked the brunette to show her ‘engagement ring’ to the camera.

“It’s not an engagement,” Georgia quickly uttered.

After pushing a bit more on the subject, the 25 year old explained about the ring saying: “Right, in Italy he says that when you get a girlfriend and a serious girlfriend you get a ring. So they don’t really do the engagement thing.

“You just get a ring and it’s like a nice commitment but they have to wear it on that finger.”

How sweet!

Keith then asked if the tradition was a bit like “ownership”, to which Georgia replied, “Well yeah”.

However, after having explained what the ring stands for in Georgia and Giovanni’s relationship, Keith turned to the audience and joked: “So a big round of applause for their engagement”.

Although the couple aren’t engaged, they have revealed that they are living together and Georgia has previously described Giovanni as the ‘best thing’ to happen to her.

She gushed: “Gio is my best friend and he helped me through a lot. He's the best thing that has ever happened to me. I’m in a very good place now. I've got good people around me.”

N’aww – how cute!

We love the idea that Giovanni has shown his commitment to Georgia with the ring – whatever it may stand for.

Celebrity Juice is on Thursdays, 10pm on ITV2.
