Georgia May Foote sparked rumours she was taking her whirlwind romance with dancer Giovanni Pernice to the next level yesterday after she was spotted wearing a ring on her engagement finger.
The former Coronation Street actress took to the stage with Giovanni for the Strictly Come Dancing tour and was sporting her new jewellery. Fans were quick to ask whether marriage was on the cards but, when Georgia was asked about the ring, she coyly replied that it was a gift.
“It isn’t an engagement ring,” Georgia told the Mirror. While Giovanni added: “It was a present.”
The couple – who got together on the BBC One Dancing show late last year – recently revealed they are moving in together,
“Yes, [we are moving in together], Georgia explained. “Let's hope it's not just a whirlwind romance.” Indeed.
The pair’s romance reignited talk of the Strictly curse – as Georgia was dating Sean Ward when she met Giovanni on the show. But, insiders say it was Sean’s insecurity that drove Georgia away.
“Georgia was very fond of Sean and she cared for him deeply, but he found it difficult to get over the close friendship she had with Giovanni,” a source told the Mirror.
“It was Sean who pushed Georgia away, he didn't feel secure in their relationship and it led to huge rows. Georgia would regularly be in floods of tears backstage. Giovanni was trying to be a good friend.”
