Heartbroken Gemma Collins’ ‘revenge’ on James Argent and Lydia Bright

She confirmed things were serious with her former fiancé, Rami Hawesh, last week, revealing she might “come back pregnant” from their summer holiday.

And Gemma Collins’ surprise confession came just days after her ex, James “Arg” Argent, was snapped playing happy families with his childhood sweetheart, Lydia Bright, and her one-year-old daughter, Loretta, at his sister’s wedding.

Opening up about her baby plans on her Love Lounge podcast – a day after being snapped with Rami at a friend’s baby shower – the Diva Forever star, 40, said, “I’m definitely having a summer of love, so who knows, I could come back pregnant.”

The self-coined “GC” – who just weeks ago played down her reconciliation with the 45-year-old businessman as “just a bit of fun” – added, “I’ve got a lovely partner now and I’m very happy. I never saw that coming and I never predicted that.

“This is what I’m saying – you really have to let your past go and move to the future, because everyone’s Prince Charming is out there somewhere. I’m looking forward to a summer of love.”

And while Gemma insists her relationship with Rami is genuine, pals are concerned she wants to get revenge on Arg, 33, amid fears he wants to start a family with Lydia, 30.

A source says, “After reuniting, Gemma spent the first few weeks dismissing their relationship as just a casual fling, so her sudden turnaround has come as a shock to everyone.

“Gemma’s biggest fear is Arg getting back with Lydia and having a baby with her, so it seems a little suspicious that after seeing them together at a family bash, Gemma’s suddenly going full throttle with Rami. It’s sparked concerns amongst her loved ones, who fear this is more about her trying to get revenge on Arg and Lydia – whom she once thought of as a friend – by proving she is over him and can be happy.”

Her comments were seen as even more surprising as, only days before her “baby-making” confession, the former Dancing on Ice star said she was no longer focused on marriage and children after being left heartbroken by Arg, who, just months before their split, had vowed to propose and start a family with her.

Gemma – who famously once said she’d happily trade her wealth for a boyfriend and a baby – confessed, “I’m not really bothered... I thought I was going to marry him and be with him and do everything with him. So the fact that’s not happened yet is because, really, I wanted it to be all with him.”

Gemma and Arg’s bitter split last July appeared to finally mark the end of their turbulent on/off relationship which began almost a decade ago during their time on TOWIE.

Ever since, the pair have seemed to play a game of one-upmanship in the public eye, amid surprise reunions with ex-partners, flirtatious displays, image overhauls and public confessions about moving on.

In April, sceptical fans noted how Gemma and Rami’s reconciliation “conveniently” surfaced shortly after Arg gushed how he’d become “extremely close” to Lydia again following their toxic break-up in 2016.

The troubled star also credited the single mum for her support since turning his life around following his third stint in rehab in 2019, revealing, “I’m lucky to have her in my life”.

Insiders at the time told Closer that his gushing tribute served as a bitter blow to Gemma, who had endured almost a decade of heartache throughout Arg’s drug addiction, which she recently revealed “ripped through” her family and “broke her heart”.

Pals say seeing her ex-toyboy cosy up to Lydia last week was the final nail in the coffin.

Lydia, who shares her daughter with her ex, Lee Cronin, posted a picture of them together and gushed about Arg’s “kindest” family as she affectionately dubbed the pair “friends forever”.

The source says, “Gemma’s heart broke a little when she saw the pictures – not only because seeing them together triggered a lot of deep-rooted pain, but because that should have been her by his side. She loved Natasha and Arg’s whole family and had even helped plan parts of the wedding, so to not only not be present, but to see Lydia invited and playing happy families with Arg, was like a stab to the heart. It made her realise any hope of a reunion with him was off the table.”

Gemma and Rami first got engaged in 2013, following a whirlwind romance, before calling it quits in 2014. Despite a brief reunion in 2017, the pair went their separate ways – with Rami becoming a father to three-year-old son Tristan – before reportedly reconnecting again last year.

After turning 40 in January, Gemma – who tragically revealed she miscarried Arg’s baby during the first lockdown – vowed to have a baby “this year”.

And after having “life-saving” gastric sleeve surgery in April – since shedding 4st – Arg said he was also ready to become a dad.

“I would love to meet someone and start a family,” he confessed, adding, “I’m in a place where I can look after myself and in a place where I can take care of a child.” The source says that, while Lydia has made it clear she just wants to be friends, he is secretly hoping he can win her over.

He has previously admitted hopes that his weight-loss would make him more “achievable” to women.

And pals say Arg and Lydia’s recent display has made Gemma feel desperate to get over the pain by going full throttle with her own baby plans.

The source says, “Gemma is now living in fear of a the pair making a pregnancy announcement and hearing the news she’s been dreading all along – the man she’d dreamt of settling down with is having that happy ever after with the woman she felt second best to for the best part of a decade. It’s not surprising that she wants to publicly put it out there that she’s moved on from him.’
