The 32-year-old’s boyfriend Rami Hawash asked her to marry him – by sticking the ring into Gemma’s Christmas pudding.
Gemma tweeted her excitement, writing: “Very excited to announce that I got engaged yesterday. I am very happy @RamTech_ I love you best Xmas pudding x.”
She then shared a picture of the sparker, still stuck in the Christmas pud, before revealing a few of her wedding plans.
She wrote: “Confirmed @MissJessWright_ will be singing at the wedding x @SamanthaFaiers @BillieFaiers @fernmccann on drums.”
In the last episode of the latest series of The Only Way is Essex, Gemma told friend Bobby Norris that she had finished it with Rami – who she has been dating since 2011.
She said: “Rami said something really bad to me and I’ve had to break up with him. It’s the final straw. We had trouble in Marbella. He said I’m not sexy, I’ve got to work harder…”

It has been revealed that Gemma will take part in the next series of Splash! and she aims to show that big girls are beautiful.
Speaking to a UK publication, she said: “I wanted to do it because so many people will be out there saying, ‘oh she is just a whale in the pool’ – all the usual nonsense.
“But I’m a successful lady. I have just won a fashion award. By appearing on Splash!, I want to show that big girls are beautiful and that you can dive whether you’re a size 8 or a size 20.”
The star also revealed that she is going to be bringing some Essex sparkle to the competition.
She said: “I’m looking forward to wearing a sparkly outfit and proving to people that in life you can accomplish absolutely anything if you put your mind to it.”
