Gemma Collins has alleged that she was the victim of a violent assault at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Alex Moss.
The TOWIE star claims that in 2014, the night before she flew to Australia to appear on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, Moss attacked her at her home in Essex and it was because of this she quit the show after only three days.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Gemma said: “I was severely beaten up by my partner the night before I went into the jungle.
“I'm lucky to be alive. He beat me to within an inch of my life.”
And while ITV bosses encouraged her not to carry on with her stint in the jungle, the 36-year-old felt compelled to give it a go.
She explained: “When I went in there I was really badly beaten from my neck down.
“ITV didn't want me doing it but because they'd given me such a huge opportunity, how could I not do it?"
And Gemma has also promised to release pictures that show the effects of the physical abuse she allegedly endured.
She told The Sun Online: "I couldn't speak about it before because I wasn't over it. But I am now and I want people to know.”
