GBBO’s Nadiya Hussain abused after terrorist attacks: ‘There’s a cloud over my head’

Great British Bake Off winner discusses Islamophobic abuse she has received.

Despite her victory, Nadiya admitted she almost didn't make it to week one of GBBO

Nadiya, winner of BBC's hit show the Great British Bake Off, has opened up and explained some of the racist experiences she has gone through.

“If I’m on the train, people will sit away from me, or God forbid I’ve got a rucksack or suitcase… I’ve been shoved waiting for a bus, had things thrown at me" she told The Times Magazine.

She revealed emotionally: “After every Islamic attack I walk out of the door with a cloud over my head."

Nadia also revealed that her brother recieved abuse following the terrorist attacks in Paris last November.

This is not the first time Nadiya has been victim to such horrid comments and threats, as earlier this year she revealed while on the Great British Bake Off she had to enlist for police protection.

Despite these horrible experiences Nadiya has gone from strength to strength since winning BBC’s cooking show Great British Bake Off, she has her own cookbooks, has her own upcoming show, appeared on the Loose Women panel.

and baked the Queen her 90th birthday cake.

We couldn't be prouder.
