Gary Lineker and Danielle Bux have sadly called time on their relationship.

"Gary and Danielle have decided to end their marriage and their divorce was confirmed today with the judge granting a Decree Nisi," a spokesperson told the Sun.

"They remain the greatest of friends and wish each other every happiness."

The Match Of The Day presenter met model Danielle in 2007, and love quickly blossomed between them.

Gary and Danielle got married in a secret £400 civil ceremony in Ravello, Italy, on Tuesday, in the presence of just two witnesses.

“I’m going to be the happiest woman in the world,” Danielle said famously, as the big day approached.

“I love everything about Gary and I can’t wait to be his wife.”

The couple splashed out on their reception with friends and family, which cost an estimated £250,000.

Now, after six years of marriage, the couple have called time on their relationship after gradually falling “out of love" with one another.

According to reports, the split came after Danielle - who has a 13 year old daughter, Ella from a previous relationship - revealed to Gary that she wanted to have another child.

However Gary, who already has 4 sons - George, Harry, Tobias, and Angus - from his first marriage to Michelle Cockayne, was against starting a young family.

A source close to the couple told The Sun: “Usually these things are very sad and often acrimonious but with Gary and Danielle it is very much friendly with no legal battle that can cost a lot of money.

"They didn’t use any solicitors and filed for divorce using a government website where they filled out the forms together. It cost about £400, rather tens of thousands in legal bills.”

The source finished: “They made a great couple but their different views on having children is what made them realise had to split.

"They both know it is the right thing to do and are looking forward to the future. They are convinced they will stay friends."
