But the reason for Jennifer Aniston wanting a Friends movie, is not because the fans or even she wants it.

According to reports, it’s because she wants to revive her acting career following a string of box office flops.

The insider revealed that Jennifer realises that her recent films, like Mother’s Day and Horrible Bosses 2, haven’t done as well as she hoped and even though she was paid more than $100 million per movie, the Friends star feels that she is no longer attracting cinema-goers.

The 47 year old is believed to have taken a huge drop in earnings, because her name in a film doesn’t excite fans like it used to.

A source revealed to Naughty Gossip: “Jen knows she needs a box office hit or her film career will be over. Like [Sarah Jessica Parker] did with Sex and the City movies, Jen wants to turn the TV show into a hit film.

“She has met with writers and is starting to develop a script. She needs a hit, fast.”

If the rumours are true, this would contradict what the actress has previously said about making a movie of the show.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Jennifer said: “Friends is in your living room - Friends is not in a movie theatre. It doesn't make sense to me. I think it would be going against its authentic self.”

Well, even if the rumour is true, would the cast reunite for the sake of Jen’s career?

All but Matthew Perry did get back together in January for a gala dinner for director James Burrrows, so being back together again could have reminded them how much fun they had over the 10 years filming the famous sitcom together…
