Former Strictly Come Dancing star Frankie Bridge was left 'scared half to death' after her young son to hospital as he was struck down with sudden illness.
The singer, who originally shot to fame from starring in girlband The Saturdays, posted a selfie of her cuddling her young son alongside a heartfelt caption.
She wrote: ‘The face of a proud emotionally drained Mum who’s child has been really poorly and scared her half to death and a child who is the prime example of how well and quickly they bounce back.
‘This little man is so full of love and this surprise hug felt more amazing than he will ever know… not sure who was looking after who…?’
After the shock of taking her son Parker to A&E, she decided to miss the ITV Gala and instead cuddle up and watch Christmas movies with her family.
The 28-year-old revealed how Parker had been struck down with croup - a condition that affects children's airways and leaves them struggling to breathe.
Comments of support flooded in for Frankie, including some mums who had terrifying experiences of croup of their own.
One wrote, 'We got home this afternoon from the hospital as my little boy was taken to hospital in blue lights late last night. He's currently sat next to me eating wotsits and watch the Smurf movie 😉 so glad you're both ok. I haven't brushed my hair for 2 days 😶 croup is not our friend!'
Another fan wrote. 'My son has scared me several times with croup, it’s the worst feeling ever. Glad your little lad is feeling better xx'
Frankie and Wayne married in 2014 and have two sons, Parker and Carter.
