Frankie Bridge, mum to two little boys Parker, 2, and Carter, 11 months, with footballer Wayne Bridge, has called upon her Instagram followers to help her with a very important dilemma.
Seeking advice from her fellow mums, the former pop star admitted that she was struggling to let go of always using a baby monitor – that she uses to keep an eye on her little ones.
Posting a screenshot of a note to Instagram, it read: "Mums!!!! When do you stop using a baby monitor?! Don't feel like I can let go!!!!"
Of course, many helpful mums jumped in and commented their suggestions.
Lots stated that the only time to get rid of a baby monitor is when you feel ready and rely on your instinct: "If you aren't ready keep using it, mummy's gut instinct is the best tool to use. Xx."
One mum suggested that it’s not really an issue: “I stopped when my daughter was 1 but I’ve never sleep deeply I’m always on edge lol.
"You will know when it’s time, if you don’t feel ready then keep it there. let’s face it, it’s not really an issue if you keep it anyway is it :) xx”
However, some mentioned that they will never stop using it, regardless of their child’s age.
One said: "Don't stop using it!! I know babies who have had cot death at 2&3 sorry to sound morbid but why would you not use it?
"If it's wired up and working then just leave it. I will never take my daughter off it. Hope that helps. Xx”
Some admitted that they have never used a baby monitor and never will.
“Never used a baby monitor ever . I hear every noise and movement thru the walls only next door to me,” one explained.
One mum suggested that using one could mean that you’re always finding yourself checking it: “Ahh. Be brave. You'll hear him cry if he needs you.
"Enjoy the sleep. My second is 11 months and stopped altogether now xx”
Of course, every mum is different and it's completely down to each individual to decide how to bring up your children.
When did you give up your baby monitor? Or haven't you yet?
