The reality star, 28, is currently recording her debut album and posted a picture on Instagram this week of her in the studio.
Before appearing on The Only Way Is Essex, Lauren was a in a girl band and, after leaving the reality show, she wants to concentrate on her music again.
A source told a UK newspaper: “Lauren used to be in a pop band and has always loved music but, after she went on TOWIE, she was worried she might be going along a different career path.
“But now that’s all finished she’s been back in the studio.
Lauren, who once auditioned for The X Factor with band Ruby Blue, is trying to clean up her image in the run up to launching her music career.
The source continued: “Lauren has been putting her all into this. She has hired a vocal coach and has been taking singing lessons. She is also trying to market herself more towards music, rather than modeling, and has deleted racy pictures from her Instagram as she thinks they will harm her chances.
“She’s now a serious artist making serious music so she wants that reflected in her online presence.”
She has previously spoken of her desire to be a singer, but worried nobody would take her seriously, saying: “I’d love to be a solo pop star but it’s not like I could break into song on The Only Way Is Essex. No one would take me seriously.”
Lauren wouldn’t be the first Essex star to try and launch a music career, Jessica Wright has also tried, once with band Lola and more recently on her own.
