Louise Plowright, a beloved actress both on screen and stage, had sadly passed away at age 59.

Her most famous TV role being hairdresser Julie Cooper in BBC One’s EastEnders, she was a familiar face around Albert Square during the years 1989-1990.

And after a further few roles on television, the talented actress turned to the theatrical world.

She had many great roles throughout her career most notably ‘Donna’ in the stage production of Mamma Mia, and ‘Madame Morrible’ in hit musical Wicked,.

Although sadly she had to pull out of the latter role in 2013 after being diagnosed with the illness.

The news of her passing was announced on Wicked’s Facebook page, who wrote:

“With great sadness we report that the wonderful Louise Plowright has passed away after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a much cherished former member of the Wicked London company (and a truly fabulous Madame Morrible) and an inspiration to everyone who knew her.”
