First look at Michelle Keegan as Corporal Georgie Lane in new series of Our Girl

The first pictures of Michelle Keegan as Corporal Georgie Lane in the new series of Our Girl have been released.

The actress plays the character of a committed soldier who loves the adventure of her job on the BBC show.

On wearing the costume, Michelle said: “First time I put on the uniform it felt quite surreal but then I immediately felt the sense of duty – as if I was in the military.”

Michelle will be appearing alongside actors Luke Pasqualino who plays Special Forces officer Elvis Harte and Royce Pierreson, who plays Dr Jamie Cole.

Michelle’s character Georgie will have to earn the love and trust of her fellow soldiers and the respect of her commanding officer as she works alongside aid workers in the biggest refugee camp in the world in Kenya.

The star recently got married to former The Only Way Is Essex cast member Mark Wright and their relationship is still going strong despite her work commitments meaning she has to spend time away.

She told a magazine: “He’s my best friend. I love that he’s a gentleman. I’m feeling very lucky.

“There’s nothing in my life that I would change. I have no regrets. I’m very happy with my work and personal life.”
