Here’s the good news you’ve been waiting for – everyone’s favourite Maître D’, First Dates Fred (aka Fred Sirieix) has announced he’s engaged to his long term girlfriend.
Fred is best known for lighting the spark under LOADS of romances on Channel 4’s flagship dating show, First Dates – even helping former glamour model Melinda Messenger find lasting love with her one-time wedding photographer in 2018.
And now Fred has revealed he’s found the real deal for himself, having proposed to his girlfriend, who we know only as ‘Fruitcake’, this week.
Taking to his Instagram, Fred uploaded a picture of the two of them with the simple caption, “#Fruitcake said yes” followed by an engagement ring emoji – and we’re thrilled for them.

One celeb that Fred wasn’t successful in setting up at the First Dates hotel last year was TOWIE Lothario Pete Wicks – who also took to the comments to say, “Yes my man! Congrats”.
Speaking exclusively to Closer after his unsuccessful date back in November, Pete said, “I don’t think there’s any [dating shows] I’ve not done!
“We were away at the hotel and it was a really great experience – I’m a massive fan of the show – but when we got back home it’s one of those things and you realise you just live slightly different lives.
“Nothing came of it but she was a really great girl."
