Defiant Ferne McCann: ‘I’m all my baby will ever need’

Ferne McCann has introduced her baby daughter Sunday to the world for the first time on the front cover of OK! Magazine.

Ferne, 27, confessed over the weekend that she had taken baby Sunday to HMP Belmarsh in South London to visit her father, Arthur Collins, who was found guilty of an acid attack less than two weeks after Sunday was born.

But Ferne seems determined to put her past behind her and Sunday so that they can move on with their lives, and told the publication: "As far as I'm concerned, I'm all my baby will ever need."

Cara Kilby and Daniel Harris

Cara Kilby only had a brief stint on TOWIE, but she was a firm favourite with viewers.Her boyfriend, Daniel, was sentenced to two years in prison after being accussed of leading a gang that sold drugs across London. He is due for release in the next few weeks.

She told the publication that she was "in shock for a long time" after her ex-boyfriend was arrested for the acid attack back in April this year, adding: "It’s been a really emotional time. It’s been horrendous and very difficult to come to terms with and I probably never will."

But selfless Ferne didn't want the focus to be on her, as she said: "The past six months have been hell but I’m not the victim in all this and I’m certainly not looking for sympathy."

Ferne, whose ex-boyfriend Arthur was found guilty of the acid attack on 13 November - just 11 days after Sunday was born - revealed she would stay strong for her baby: "I’m just so thankful that she’s arrived safely and that we have each other."

Ferne took Sunday to visit her father in prison at the weekend, telling The Sunday People that she was "very angry about what has happened" and wanted to "hear what Arthur had to say."

She said: "I thought it was important that Arthur see Sunday and see exactly what his actions have led to him missing out on.

Ferne added: "I strongly feel for the innocent people hurt that night and I in no way condone violence as I have already made clear.

"It was a difficult decision to take Sunday into that environment but I felt I needed to confront him about a number of things, which I have now done."

A friend of Ferne then told the publication that Ferne was "very, very angry", adding that she was "absolutely furious and gave Arthur a piece of her own mind."

The source added: "She showed him his child and said that he would never see her again. That he had caused so much pain and that he was missing out on a life with baby Sunday.

"It was a heartbreaking meeting but Ferne needed to get closure."

Collins will be sentenced on 19 December.
