As pregnant Fearne bid farewell to the station she worked on for ten years, she was joined by long-term pal Holly, husband Jesse Wood and son Rex, who were all there to support the star.

Her 34-year-old pal Holly paid tribute to her best friend on Twitter, writing: ‘Sad goodbye to @Fearnecotton on @BBCR1 end of an era! What a decade it’s been missy!’

‘Crying listening to @Fearnecottonon @BBCR!…So much has changed in the last 10 years but motherhood is the greatest adventure of all.’

In a statement, Fearne wrote: ‘I’ve been looking forward to this day and dreading it in equal measure.’

Holly posted an emotional fairwell to her friend

‘My last day at Radio 1 after nearly 10 years. It’s only now I can look back on it all as a chunk of time and a roller-coaster chapter of my life.’

‘I feel so lucky to have worked at Radio 1 and leave with so many gorgeous memories. On to new adventures! Love and Peace Fearne.’

Popular Fearne received tribute messages from a whole host of artists, friends and fans on her final day - also being joined by pal Leigh Francis, and former co-star Reggie Yates for her last show.

And to commemorate her final day, Fearne shared a super-cute photo of her and Holly in their hay day, captioning it: ‘Thanks Hol’s for popping into the show today and thanks for digging this up #10yearsago #HungOverButYoung. (sic)’
