Former Coronation Street actor, who played Tommy Duckworth, has revealed on This Morning that he didn’t think he deserved to work again after he was caught making a disgraceful rap about rape and violence.

Wearing a Halloween disguise, he rapped: "I will f**k anybody up in the worst way, rape a bitch on her birthday.

"I’m a motherf**king demon, I’ll stab you in the face with a diseased needle."

Corrie bosses had no choice but to sack him as the videos started to emerge.

Explaining the incident, Chris told Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford: "Stupidly, when I was younger I got involved with a group of people. I didn't know well.

"I tried to impress these people and did stupid things, and relive every day thinking why did I do that.

"It kills me the stuff that went online. It in no way reflects how I feel about women."

Chris, who also starred in Hollyoaks, admitted that he nearly didn’t take his new role - part of a new touring production of The Full Monty musical alongside Gary Lucy – because he was so ashamed of what happened.

He admitted: “I felt like ‘do I deserve to do this again?’”

Chris later tweeted his thanks to the show for giving him a chance to talk candidily about what happened.
