Ex-Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton has given birth to her first child, a bouncing baby boy.

The blonde star gave birth to her first child with husband Richie Meyer yesterday.

The delighted couple named their adorable newborn Ernie, which means ‘serious business’ or ‘battle to the death’ in Old German.

Yikes!

The 31-year-old announced her pregnancy earlier this year, but insisted that she hoped to keep the sex of her first child a surprise.

She told Hello!: "We know our little baby will change our lives completely, and so it should."

Helen made a name for herself on popular CBBC show Blue Peter as one of the most daring and dynamic presenters the series has had.

During her time on the show she broke world records by kayaking 2, 010 miles down the Amazon and by trekking to the South Pole.

We wonder if ‘serious business’ Ernie will have his mother’s adventurous streak?
