Danny Dyer’s Twitter page is, without a doubt, one of the funniest celebrity social media pages of all time.
But, while he usually has us in fits of giggles, he took to Twitter late last night to make an emotional post.
Revealing that he had lost his beloved granddad just a few days earlier, the real-life Mick Carter shared a photo of his grandfather in uniform, as well as a montage of old family pictures.
The EastEnders star wrote simply: “Rest in peace, my old granddad.
“19/07/31 to 28/04/15”
But, while there’s no denying that the actor seems more than a little heartbroken about the news, he made sure to add some of his typical Danny Dyer style to the post.
Speaking from the heart, he added approvingly: “Proper geezer.”
Plenty of fans took to Twitter to send their thoughts and well-wishes to the soapstar, telling him whole-heartedly that they were sorry for his sad loss.
One wrote: “I’m sure he will keep an eye on you… watch out for his signs.”
Another added: “Thinking of you and sending love your way.”
