Emmerdale’s Danny Miller has slammed Twitter for failing to reprimand trolls that sent him homophobic abuse and threatened to delete his account if the abuse continued.
The actor, who has played Aaron Dingle on the ITV soap since 2008, told Twitter to sort their “s**t out” after he reported one account who he claimed sent him homophobic slurs. Despite reporting the same account sixteen times, Twitter “found that there was no violation of Twitter rules against abusive behaviour.”
Clearly unhappy that the troll wouldn’t be punished, Danny slammed the social network for their response to the abuse and claimed he “won’t be on here for much longer.”

Posting a screenshot of the response he received from Twitter, he wrote: “Honestly @Twitter sort your st.* *** ** To say that the word ‘F**********t’ isn’t offensive. And to say that it’s not ‘abusive behaviour’ when this is my SIXTEENTH complaint about the same dead leg with a different account…
“Won’t be on here for much longer I can tell you that. Sort. Your. S**t. Out!!”
The actor’s followers praised him for standing up to the troll and calling for Twitter to stamp out homophobic abuse.
“Some people are just vile and hateful. Great to see you standing up to it though and holding Twitter accountable. It’s not acceptable that people should be forced to read this sort of abuse,” wrote one fan, while another said: “Please don’t leave your proper fans will miss you. Rise above the trolls. They are sad people with nothing in their lives. Stay strong my lovely xxxxx.”
Twitter has since issued a statement, telling the BBC that the user accused of sending Danny abuse was “no longer on Twitter".
