The fresh-faced star grew up in front of the world as she played Hermoine Granger in the Harry Potter franchise - a role which helped her amass her rumoured £30m fortune.
And Watson says her early exposure to fame has made her more thick skinned when it comes to criticism.
'As a younger woman, that pressure got me down but I've made my peace with it. With airbrushing and digital manipulation, fashion can project an unobtainable image that's dangerously unhealthy.'
'I'm excited about the ageing process. I'm more interested in women who aren't perfect. They're more compelling.'
The actress, who stars in the biblical epic Noah, also said she refuses to sex herself up - which has led to casting directors overlooking her for certain roles.
In fact, since the last Harry Potter film in 2011, Watson has only played teenage or young adult roles. From a teenage thief in The Bling Ring, to a college student in The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
'I'm more interested in women who aren't perfect. They're more compelling.'
Watson has expressed her frustration at the kind of roles she's been offered since playing the schoolgirl wizard, saying many of them 'I didn't feel were very complicated. Women that were one dimensional.'
Let's hope her latest role as Russell Crowe's daughter in Noah, will be as multi-faceted as possible.
