During an interview with a UK magazine, actress Emma, 25, said that she is conscious about what she says during interviews as it could have an effect on young people.

She said: “[Being a role model] is in no way a burden at all. But that is something I have to be more conscious of lately, probably because I haven’t had to do interviews for a long time now.

“It’s so important to be clear on your feelings about things and what you are going to say publicly, because I think that young women – and young people – are incredibly important and they need to have people in the public sphere they can look up to.”

Emma, who is currently promoting her new movie The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which she co-stars in alongside boyfriend Andrew Garfield, said that she also thinks it’s important for people to follow their own paths.

She gushed over Jennifer Lawrence, calling her an inspiration

“I absolutely think that people should follow their own paths,” she said. “And that’s probably something, oddly, I have gone back to over the past couple of years and I think it’s the thing I have struggled with more recently than ever.”

During the interview Emma also gushed over Jennifer Lawrence, citing her as an inspiration.

She said: “She is so inspiring to me, and I am so grateful that she exists in the world, as someone who is authentic and who has not bent to fit any idea of what women should be like in that position.

“And she’s so talented. I’m just happy that she is around for women everywhere. It’s just fantastic.”
