Actor Eddie Redmayne and wife Hannah Bagshawe have reportedly welcomed their first child this week.
The 34-year-old star's wife is said to have given birth to their first daughter on Wednesday, naming her Iris May Redmayne.
A spokeswoman for the couple told the MailOnline: "I can confirm that Eddie and Hannah Redmayne have welcomed their first child".
The pair wed in Somerset back in 2014, and just months later Eddie won the Best Actor Academy Award for playing Stephen Hawking in the award-wining movie "The Theory Of Everything".
And when they announced the pregnancy, Eddie was adamant that the couple wouldn't be finding out the sex of their baby when discussing it with US TV show Extra back in February. He said "It’s gonna be a surprise. I was like, "Maybe we should find out" and my wife’s like, "We’re not finding out." She wears the trousers. It's one of the great surprises that still exists in the world!".
He also admitted his pre-fatherhood nerves: "It's quite a few months away, but we started looking at all the logistics. The list of things you're meant to get before going to the hospital... it's a long list of stuff right there! We have this sort of dream of like wooden toys, and all that, and everyone's like, "Yeah you always start off like that, but you end up with like, iPhones!""
Mega congrats to the happy couple on their new bundle of joy!
