The actress played Nancy Carter, daughter to pub landlords Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), for two years until leaving the soap earlier this year.

Maddy’s character Nancy left Albert Square with boyfriend Tamwar Masood (Himesh Patel) to go travelling, and the beautiful blonde has revealed what she likes to think the pair are up to.

Speaking on Sunday Brunch, Maddy said: "In my mind, we're in Pakistan, we've got local jobs, paying our way and staying with Tamwar's mum."

And the 26 year old hasn’t ruled out a return for her popular character, saying it’s “a possibility”.

However, since leaving the soap, Maddy has been preparing for two upcoming Shakespeare plays: A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Imogen (a re-working of Cymbeline).

Talking on the Sunday chat show, Maddy revealed that she misses being part of EastEnders, but is happy to have time to herself again, saying:

"I miss the people desperately but the hours are mad and it's nice to become yourself again, in terms of managing your own time and seeing friends.”

But she sounded very excited about her upcoming role in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as she explained the play is “a gag a minute” and is something that “hasn’t been done before”.

Later in the year, Maddy will be starring as the title role in Imogen at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and the director of the play Matthew Dunster revealed his delight in casting the EastEnders’s actress, who they could “build the production around”.

He added: Maddy has a terrific contemporary bite, and her presence will help me to explore the play, to make it feel fresh and about London.

“Maddy is bursting with talent and has the technique to take on a role like Imogen, and excite the audience in a space like the Globe Theatre.”

It certainly sounds like Maddy has been busy since leaving the BBC One soap, and we’re glad she’s enjoying her next stage in her career.
