For many loyal EastEnders fans, Bradley Branning’s death left a wound in our hearts that we will never quite recover from.

We all watched in horror as Stacey Slater’s innocent baby-faced husband clambered up onto the rooftops of Albert Square, as he was wrongly pursued by police for a murder he didn’t commit.

And he did it all to protect the woman he loved; yup, Stacey was the one who’d actually bumped off her rapist, Archie Mitchell - and Bradley knew it, too.

His last words?

“STACEY! RUN!!!”

And then he…

Gulp.

And then he PLUMMETED to his death.

Life in Walford was never quite the same after Bradley left - and, annoyingly, EastEnders bosses made it so that he couldn’t even pop up years later and say his death was all a big mistake, a la Kathy Beale.

Nope, our beloved Bradley was gone - and Charlie Clements, who played the butter-wouldn’t-melt character, disappeared from the limelight as quickly as he’d entered it.

Until now, that is!

Yup, the real-life Bradley Branning made something of a shock appearance on ITV’s Loose Women this week.

And he certainly looked different from how we remembered him.

He’s all grown up now, isn’t he?

In fact, in a weird way, he actually looks a little like Jake Wood, who plays his on-screen dad, Max Branning, in the BBC One soap.

Just check out that man stubble and unkempt hair, eh?

However, it seems as if nostalgic EastEnders fans were NOT impressed by Charlie’s new manly look.

And it wasn’t long before they were all on Twitter complaining about it.

Seriously?

Bore off, you meanies - we think Charlie looks great!

Sitting with the Loose Women panel, Charlie opened up about leaving EastEnders, saying: “I don’t regret it.

“Because by leaving it’s allowed me to do other things, but I had a great time on the show.”

And he will be BACK on our screens very soon in a docu-drama based on the life of King Henry VIII, playing the title role.

Anyone else excited to see him don a crown on telly?

You can catch Charlie on Henry VIII And His Six Wives when it starts on Channel 5 on April 15.
