The loveable Northern Irish TV presenter has been forbidden from taking part in the act of love making with his fellow presenter wife, Ruth Langsford - or anyone else for that matter.

The cheeky chappy is about to undergo surgery, and has been banned from having sex to help speed the recovery.

Eamonn, 55, explained that it's his wifes fault he has to go through the ideal – as she wore his hips out to begin with - naughty!

Speaking to The Mirro at the National Television Awards on Wednesday night (January 20), Holmes revealed:

“I’m facing a two week double hip operation, she wore them out, she’s got to help wear them in.”

Ruth added: “The doctor says no hanky panky and no strong exercise.”

Before deciding to tie the knot in 2010, the TV duo had been in a relationship for 13 years, and they often admit the still fancy the pants off each other. But as he prepares to go into surgery for a double hip op next month, he will have to keep it under control as he’s banned from being intimate with his wife, and will also be taking 10 weeks off from working in television.

We expect he'll be more in front if the TV than on it.

Eamonn continued: “I just want to get it done now because I’m in a lot of pain. I can’t stand for long periods of time. It’s not great."

The issue is derived from a degenerative hereditary condition, and has caused him pain for several years. Although previously the TV personality put off seeking surgery as he didn't want to seem 'passed-it' in his very age-conscious profession.

We wish you a speedy recovery, Eamonn! Take it easy….
