After her spokesperson deemed the reports “completely untrue,” Denise revealed on TV Friday that the couple's separate holidays were down to not having a nanny.

Appearing on ITV’s Daybreak to promote her new radio show and West End role, she said: “Just to set the record straight, we don't have a nanny, so we split our parenting duties, so we do spend time apart.”

Denise married Lee within a year of meeting him

“If we had a nanny and we went away all the time together then people would critcise us for not taking our child with us. Betsy's in nursery, do you know what I mean?” she added.

Denise, who also flew to Dubai without her husband over New Year, Explained how she and Lee take it in turns to look after daughter Betsy. She said: “when I was on the Strictly Tour, Lee was at home with her, then when I finished the tour Lee went back to LA as he's doing pilot season.”
