The Heart Attack singer is reportedly recovering in hospital after being rushed to the emergency ward yesterday.
Demi Lovato apparently had "significant difficulty" breathing and was taken to the Providence Tarzana Medical Center in California by a friend.
Doctors did tests and learned that the 22-year-old was suffering from a bad lung infection and found that it was flu-related.
Demi was given antibiotics and other medication to treat the symptoms and she was still in the hospital as of late Tuesday afternoon, according to TMZ.
Her hospital admittance meant she had to cancel a recording session for her new album with a 'big producer'.
Demi has, in the past, spoken out about the 'dark period' in her life when she wound up in rehab.
Speaking in 2011, she said: "I basically had a nervous breakdown. I was really bad off. My parents and manager pulled me aside and said, 'You need to get some help.'
"If you are going through that dark period, go to your family and closest friends.
"Don't put yourself in danger. It's very crucial that you get your feelings out - but don't ever inflict harm on your own body because your body is so sacred.
"I wish I could tell every young girl with an eating disorder, or who has harmed herself in any way, that she's worthy of life and that her life has meaning. You can overcome and get through anything."
We wish Demi Lovato a speedy recovery.
