Like so many of us, the Britain’s Got Talent star would love nothing more for his parents to be there on his wedding day.
But, tragically, Dec’s father - who lost his battle with cancer in 201 - will not be there to see his son tie the knot with Ali Anstall in August.
Speaking with The Mirror, Dec said: “There is always someone you are going to miss and for me it’s my dad.
“I always hoped he would see me marry, but these things happen in life. I know he is proud of me.
"My mum will be there though and all my friends.”

However, while the day will be tinged with sadness, Dec has no doubt in his mind that his wedding day will be the happiest in his life.
He said: “This is the happiest I have ever been in my whole life.”
Dec and Ali began dating in August 2013, after having worked closely together for a decade.
Groom-to-be Dec said of Ali that same year: "It was a little strange because we've had a working relationship for so long. But because it just happened there was no big 'ta-da'.
“I can still fall in love easily.”
We can’t wait to see these two lovebirds tie the knot.
