Davina McCall has confirmed she has split from her husband of 17 years, Matthew Robertson.
The presenter, who shares three children (Holly,15, Tilly, 13 and Chester, 10) with Matthew, confirmed the sad news to the Sun on Sunday and also issued a statement to ask for privacy at this difficult time for her family.
The 50-year-old said: "I am very sad to say that Matthew and I have separated. ‘Our amazing children are our number one priority, above everything else so therefore we ask for as much space and respect from the media as possible while our family goes through this difficult time."
The statement comes just days after sharing an inspirational quote on her Instagram account which could give some insight into the relationship breakdown as well as Davina's state of mind.
Davina admitted to making 'mistakes' in her life saying: "I really know about this one... I have made so many mistakes in my life ... but there is always a new day".
The presenter had admitted to attending marriage counselling with Matthew in the past explaining that it helped them move past a particular issue which kept coming up for them: "We had the same row.
"It might have been about different things but it would be about the same thing and it would get to the same point and I thought, ‘We’re never going to get past this particular row."
She continued: "People have sticking blocks in their relationship and they get stuck at the same point. But it worked brilliantly.”
But despite the success of the counselling and the couple only renewing their vows in 2015, it seems the relationship has now come to an end.
