Davina McCall has addressed a video she shared online over the Christmas period which some people saw as a cry for help.

The former Big Brother host posted a clip on Christmas Day in which she talked about her loneliness.

The film came after she spent the holidays with her ex Matthew Roberts “for the kids’ sake” following their split.

She said on This Morning: “I thought I’d do a quick message. People took that as a cry for help as I was on my own.

“Actually Matthew and I decided for the kids’ sake we’d be all together for Christmas, so I wasn’t on my own.”

Davina spent time with her estranged husband and their children Holly, Tilly and Chester over the festive period.

She explained to the show’s presenter Phillip Schofield: “Just for the record, I know you Phillip, you might want to ask me about it.

“For our kids’ sake, Matthew and I have both decided we are never going to talk about us.

“We have three kids who are quite grown up so we don’t want to talk but it’s in the public eye.”

The broadcaster also addressed rumours she’d had a relationship with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, insisting rumours weren’t true.

She said: “The Rock - it’s not true. I do love him and tweet him but I’m not secretly messaging him at all.

“My son is very excited that The Rock might know who I am.”
