The retired footballer, 39, has modelled for Armani and more recently his own brand of H&M underwear, but he admitted he feels he's getting too old now.

"I'm getting older now, I'm not too sure many people want to see me parading around in my underwear much longer," he told Another Man magazine.

"My body is still OK but it's only a matter of time before people are like, 'Really? Again?' I'm 39-years-old, I've got four kids, I'm not sure people are comfortable with that any more."

David also admitted that, despite his good looks and great body, he still gets self-conscious during photo shoots.

He continued: "I might have tattoos and things like that but getting a masculine shot out of me isn't always easy.

"It's totally nerve-wracking. Not wearing clothes is one way to be really self-conscious."

One person who definitely disagrees with David is wife Victoria. The 40-year-old fashion designer proudly uploaded a picture from the shoot to Instagram.

She wrote: "My favourite image. Beautiful x vb"
