It is unusual for David Beckham to lash out at stories in the media.
However, when a newspaper reported that Harper could have "dental or speech" issues because she's still using a dummy, he felt the need to speak out.
Taking to Instagram, the 40-year-old fumed: “Why do people feel they have the right to criticise a parent about their own children without having any facts?
“Everybody who has children knows that when they aren't feeling well or have a fever you do what comforts them best - and most of the time it's a pacifier.”
He finished firmly: “So, to those who criticise, [you should] think twice about what you say about other people's children because actually you have no right to criticise me as a parent.”
His words seemed to strike a chord with other parents - and there was an outpouring of support for the devoted dad.
One mum wrote: “As a girl with baby siblings, David is right. Yes, there comes a time for them to move on from the pacifier, but after having it for so long it's an item of comfort for them if they aren't feeling well or can't sleep.
“I’m disgusted by the idea that people feel the right to criticise another person's parenting.”
Another user posted: "You go Becks. You raised Brooklyn and we saw how amazing he turned out."
"Clearly, you and@victoriabeckham are great parents," commented another Instagram follower.
Last month, David celebrated his "amazing" youngest child's fourth birthday, taking to Instagram to share a photo of himself snuggling up to the little girl.
He captioned it: “Sweet dreams my little 4 year old...
“I think Harper Seven has had a fun packed day with her little friends... good night little lady.”
The proud dad didn’t stop there; he also posted an intimate black and white snap of him cuddling Harper as a baby.
