Daniel Parker, 24, set up a fake Facebook article headlined EastEnders Actor Danny Dyer Dies at Age 37.

In it, he claimed that the famous dad-of-three had been killed in a car accident - and the hoax article wuickly went viral, reaching more than 1.6 million people.

Danny, who plays Mick Carter in BBC One's EastEnders, was quick to slam the troll - in typical Danny Dyer fashion.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote angrily: "I'm alive, much to the despair of whoever that sick prick on Facebook is saying.

"Don't let 'em get in ya nut, my loves."

The actor accompanied the image with a picture of an apparently brainless person watching TV, alongside an image of an 'intelligent' person reading a book.

Daniel Parker has since reached out to apologise for his behaviour, telling The Mirror that it was supposed to be a joke that had gotten out of hand.

He said: "I would like to say sorry to Danny Dyer and his family if I have caused any upset.

"I would also like to say sorry to the people on Facebook who read it."

However he added that he was hurt by Danny's criticism of him, saying: "I felt a bit upset when Danny called me a 'sick prick' because I am a fan of his.

"Calling me a sick prick, that hurt me."
